Information You Submit
A name, telephone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party service that supplies results. Our servers do not retain a copy of those search entries. Messages sent directly to us contain the information included in the message and are used to respond.
Automatic Information
Hosting systems may create standard logs, including an IP address, browser information, pages requested, and timestamps. We use aggregate information to maintain service and understand general readership. Cookies or comparable tools may support essential functions, measurement, or advertising measurement where used.
How Information Is Used
Limited operational data is used to run, protect, troubleshoot, measure, and improve the reference. We do not sell a visitor list or create individual visitor profiles from it.
External Destinations
Links may lead to records custodians, libraries, archives, and sponsored search providers. Their privacy terms govern information submitted after leaving this service. Review those terms before providing identity details, payment information, or a request form.
Service Providers
Hosting and support providers can process server-log information for us. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Disclosure occurs when valid legal process requires it or when needed to operate the service.
Data Safeguards
The service uses an encrypted connection. Logs are retained only for operational needs. There are no visitor accounts, stored passwords, or member profiles held by Middlesex County Residents Directory.
Visitors Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor has provided information so it can be addressed.
Privacy Requests
Depending on location, a visitor may have rights to ask about, correct, or delete personal data a service holds. Because we retain little, a request generally involves the contact mailbox and applicable logs. Use the Contact page for a request. Massachusetts Public Records Law, G.L. c. 66, ยง 10, applies to government custodians' public-record requests, not to removal of an official record from a private reference.
Policy Changes
Any revision will be posted here. Continued use after a posted revision means the updated policy applies.
